The 2013 Wales Economic Growth Fund is a short term, rapid response grant funding programme for Welsh business, providing access to capital funding plus any associated revenue costs. It is a non-repayable fund, open to private sector companies and third sector organisations at any stage of the business cycle to provide short-term assistance in response to the current global economic crisis.
Following feedback on the 2012 Fund, the 2013 scheme will be run in two phases.
The first phase which has just been launched aims to attract businesses seeking grant assistance between £50,000 and £100,000. Expressions of Interest will be accepted from 1st March until 5th April 2013.
The second phase, due to launch in autumn 2013, is intended for businesses needing over £100,000 of match-funded assistance. This later timescale will ensure that businesses and individuals planning larger projects will have sufficient time to prepare their applications and case for funding.
Monmouthshire County Council’s cabinet member for Enterprise, Councillor Bob Greenland said: “This very useful initiative will be welcomed by Monmouthshire businesses as an important step to stimulating the local economy and creating jobs”.
