World-famous milliner Alison Tod, whose business is based in Abergavenny, is to create a unique hat in honour of Chepstow Racecourse’s Ladies’ Night in July. The racecourse is now looking for a model to wear the hat in a photoshoot.
Alison’s stunning hats have been seen around the world, adorning the heads of celebrities, London Fashion Week models and, most recently, guests at the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. The hat she creates for Chepstow’s Ladies’ Day will use colours and themes chosen specifically for the summer occasion and a local lady is needed to model the piece. The hat will then be given as a prize to the ‘best dressed lady’ attending the racecourse’s event on 12th July.
Alison says: “Ladies’ Day at the races is a very glamorous occasion where women put serious time and effort into choosing accessories such as hats and shoes. Many want something unique and tailored perfectly for them – they really go to town to perfect their outfits and it’s a brilliant opportunity for independent fashion businesses.”
Adds Louise Rea from Chepstow racecourse: “Our Ladies’ Days are about fun, glamour, style and having a great time so we’re really excited to be working with such a prolific and talented designer as Alison.”
