Caldicot Library is to mark National Reading Group Day by hosting a coffee morning at 11am on Saturday, 29th June bringing together people interested in forming a local reading group and discovering more from existing members. The new group will be able to meet at any time during the library’s opening hours including until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and until 1pm on Saturdays.
Monmouthshire Libraries has a wonderful collection of reading group books (10 copies of each title) which can be used free of charge by any reading group that meets in the county.
The housebound, isolated or disabled could benefit from a telephone reading group. The library service can deliver the reading group book to members (large print is available on request) via the Home Delivery service and each month members will receive a call from Community Network to discuss the book with the group via a conference call.
Telephone reading groups are a result of a partnership between Monmouthshire Libraries and Care and Repair Monmouthshire. The project is funded by the national lottery and is completely free to anyone living in the county.
