Do you have an idea for something that would make a difference to your community?
The ‘Making it Happen Grant’ scheme funds projects and ideas which will make a positive difference to the community. Previous grants have ranged from community activities to play equipment, gardening tools and arts/dance projects. Guidelines:
Your grant will be judged based on the information you provide on our grant application form. Some guidelines of what we do and do not fund are provided below:
What we fund:
§ The grant scheme will fund projects and ideas which will make a positive difference to a community – For example; events/activities, equipment, physical improvements, such as planting etc
§ The grant scheme is open to everyone, however all applications need to benefit Monmouthshire Housing tenants and/or communities
§ We will only award one grant to individual groups each year. Further applications will not be considered
§ Constituted and unconstituted groups are eligible to apply. Although money will not be given to unconstituted groups. They will instead receive the equipment/materials Exclusions:
We cannot fund the following requests:
§ Applications for running costs, such as rent and/or bills etc
§ Applications which are for individual benefit only, benefit of Monmouthshire Housing employees exclusively, from political parties, or from religious groups when they are exclusive to one faith communities
§ Applications which do not benefit Monmouthshire Housing tenants
§ Applications for trips and/or excursions, apart from in exceptional circumstances.
§ Applications for activities which take place outside of the County, apart from in exceptional circumstances

When can I apply?
The ‘Making it Happen’ Grant scheme has four deadlines throughout the year. In order to apply for a grant please get your application form to us before the following dates:
§ Round 1: 1st March 2013 now extended to end of March
§ Round 2: 7th June 2013
§ Round 3: 6th September 2013
§ Round 4: 6th December 2013
Applications will be assessed quarterly by the Community Investment Working Group, which is made up from staff and tenants within MHA. You will be notified of their decision before 10 working days, once that quarter has closed.

If you’re successful...
If your grant application is successful, we will ask if you agree to the following terms:
§ Agreement to take part in any reasonable publicity organised by Monmouthshire Housing. For example; presentation press release/photo
§ Agreement to provide Monmouthshire Housing with a summary of what you have achieved with the grant, including photo’s where applicable, as well as complete a six month feedback form.
If you agree to the above terms, a member of staff will contact you to arrange payment and presentation of your grant.
