National Play Day, the UK fun day for recreation, takes place on Wednesday, August 3rd bringing thousands of children and their families to hundreds of community events across the country. As well as a celebration of the right to play, Play Day is a campaign highlighting the importance of play in children’s lives.
In Monmouthshire, children will enjoy National Play Day by undertaking lots of activities in their local settings, attending Play in the Park sessions and Summer Playschemes. These are arranged by the county council, Monmouthshire Housing Association and the Three Counties Community Play Project. The three organisations hope that these celebrations will raise the profile of play in the county.
